The Dunn County Commission would like to remind residents that road ditch mowing season is approaching.
Under North Dakota Century Code Chapter 63-05, Cutting Weeds and Grasses on Highways, it is the responsibility of the adjoining landowner or operator to cut the weeds and grasses within the county road right-of-way adjoining their property, according to the schedule established by the Board of County Commissioners. To help promote roadway safety, improve visibility, and provide consistent maintenance throughout the county, the Dunn County Commission has chosen to have county road ditches mowed by Dunn County Road Department personnel using county equipment and county forces.

County crews will begin mowing roads with mucker ditches first. Beginning August 3rd, crews will then move to mowing the main county roads throughout Dunn County.

Landowners who wish to hay the county road ditches are welcome to do so. Please have all haying completed by August 3rd so it does not interfere with the county's mowing schedule. After August 3rd, any remaining vegetation may be mowed by county crews.
