Burn Restriction & Fire Index

Dunn County is currently under a FIRE Emergency Declaration & Burn Ban

Restrictions are based on the daily Fire Danger Index that can be found at

https://ndresponse.gov/burn-restrictions-fire-danger-maps

 

Burning of Pits and large piles of debris is NOT ALLOWED at any Fire Danger Index

 

Restrictions for Very HighExtreme and/or Reg Flag Warning

1. Travel off of surfaced roadways, regardless of use

2. Camp fires including those in developed campgrounds inside a fire ring

 

Restrictions for High, Very High, Extreme and/or Reg Flag Warning

1. Smoking in Open areas

2. OPEN burning, which includes the ignition of fireworks, garbage and campfires

3. Any ASH producing stoves or grills

 

ALLOWANCES - IF water and firefighting equipment including a 2A fire extinguisher is available

1. Propane and white gas stoves and grills at any fire danger level

2. Campfires if fire danger level is low, moderate, or high - IF burning in a developed campground, within a fire ring

3. Two Track travel if fire danger level is low, moderate, or high

4. Smoking inside a vehicle, building, or designated area clear of any dry vegetation or combustible material. 

 

 

The penalty for violation of this burn restriction is a Class B Misdemeanor

(NDCC 37.17.1-10.1: Maximum sentence of 30 days in jail and a $1,500.00 fine)
